Utah is world-famous for its scenic railways and for being a favorite fall destination. It is a state of undeniable beauty, where mountains and canyons offer breathtaking backdrops.

With a region that’s packed with so much natural scenery, Utah is renowned for being a playground for outdoor enthusiasts, where hiking, horseback riding, mountain climbing, and ziplining are regular day activities.

Because of the numerous streams, rivers, mountains, red rock formations, and towering canyons, Utah is also home to enormous treehouse rentals not found anywhere else.

From cozy Utah treehouse rentals for honeymooners to massive mountain cabins elevated up in the trees, you’ll find that the state has some of the most luxurious and unique treehouse vacation homes in the US.

I’ve found 6 of these rentals, each offering something different, but always having luxurious and upscale features and amenities.

Here are stunning tree house rentals in Utah you definitely need to see:

1. The Treehouse at the Escape

(Photo from VRBO)

Location: Orderville, Utah

Price: $216

Book on VRBO

This treehouse may look like a regular treehouse from the outside, but once you stay here, you’ll discover a unique feature you won’t find anywhere else.

First of all, this entire treehouse is built on a preserved centuries-old cottonwood tree. Instead of cutting it down after it died, the owners decided to preserve it by building a treehouse around it. They hollowed out the trunk and placed a climbing wall inside, where guests can literally climb up to the treehouse from the trunk’s hobbit door. But don’t worry, there’s a flight of stairs located outside the tree trunk, so guests who are not as fit-savvy won’t have a problem getting in.

This rental features 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, and sleeps 3. It’s a great accommodation for a couple or a small family. It also has a complete kitchen, an outdoor space with a fire pit, and a BBQ grill on the deck, and it has WiFi and air conditioning.

Elevated 16’ from the ground, this rental has large, picture windows, where you get beautiful views of The Sugar Knoll plateaus. There’s also a hot tub and pool within the property, which is shared by other guests staying at The Escape’s other guesthouses.

2. Treehouse on the Stream

Location: Sundance, Utah

Price: $441

This treehouse on the stream is the perfect epitome of mountain living. It’s located within a mountain, with a creek flowing alongside the backyard.

Located in the heart of the Wasatch Mountains, this Utah tree house rental is surrounded by trees and nature, as well as having a large grassy area for guests to run around.

It features 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and sleeps 9. Though there are only 3 bedrooms, the loft and living areas offer sleeper sofas and other beds, which make it a great family-friendly vacation home in Utah.

Other features of this rental include a hot tub, a yard by the creek, a well-stocked kitchen, a washer and dryer area, a wood-burning fireplace, satellite TV, plenty of swings, a small tree house loft for kids, and large glass windows to frame the stunning scenery found right outside the rental.

3. Modern Treehouse in Sundance

Price: $1,294

If you love contemporary design, this treehouse is for you. It is unlike other treehouses I’ve featured here since it offers a completely modern aesthetic not found in many rentals found in natural settings.

This treehouse in Utah features 4 bedrooms and 4+ bathrooms, so it’s a great vacation home for big families. It sleeps 12, so if you’re a large family or a big group of friends, you’ll find this treehouse will suit your needs.

Each room features clean, minimal, and contemporary aesthetics, pretty much like a hotel. Interior and furnishings come in white, gray, or neutral colors, so you’ll have a feeling of relaxation and serenity when you stay here.

It’s also an upscale rental, where modern furniture and decor are used, so if you want to experience modern living in a beautiful woodland setting, this is it.

Other features of this rental include a hot tub on the deck, a hot tub in the main bathroom, a sauna, an open living and kitchen area with floor-to-ceiling windows, and a wood-burning fireplace.

I also love the game room, which has a pool table, a giant scrabble board mounted on a wall, as well as a ping pong table. It offers a great spot for entertainment when inside the treehouse.

While kids and teenagers are playing here, the parents and adults can enjoy wine on the deck, a warm bath in the hot tub on the deck, or sweat it out in the sauna.

4. Eagle’s Nest Luxury Treehouse

Location: Sundance, Utah

Price: $2,607

Book on VRBO

Expansive, massive, and upscale, this rental in Utah sleeps 12, making it the perfect treehouse for a big family, or for a vacation with colleagues. If you’re planning on a major family vacation or a treat for your employees, this treehouse will certainly not disappoint.

There are 5 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms in each, as well as a room with bunk beds for kids. There are plenty of entertainment spaces, which include a fireplace and wet bar, a game area with a custom billiards table, a hot tub on the lower level with a firepit, and of course, my favorite feature of this rental: a large deck with plenty of outdoor seating.

5. Carriage House on the Stream

Location: Sundance, Utah

Price: $255

This treehouse is operated by the very same management as Eagle’s Nest Luxury Retreat, and you can expect the same upscale features and amenities. This rental has 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom, however, and it’s the complete opposite of Eagle’s Nest when it comes to the number of guests.

It’s a 2-person accommodation, which makes this Utah rental a couple’s retreat or romantic hideaway. It is designed for a relaxing couple’s stay, with a running creek located at the back. A deck overlooks the creek, with a hot tub and bench situated right over the creek for the most romantic spot in this guest house.

Other features include a kitchen, a washer and dryer area, an office, a propane fire pit on the 2nd deck, and an outdoor area which makes for the perfect spot for stargazing.

6. Over the River and Through the Woods Treehouse

(Photo from VRBO)

Location: Sundance, Utah

Price: $853

Book on VRBO

For our last treehouse in Utah, I decided to feature another family-friendly rental simply because the state makes for the ultimate family vacation destination. I think it’s one of those perfect winter vacation destinations, since there’s ample snow, and ski resorts within Sundance are abuzz with so much activity.

If you want to learn to ski or snowboard, take your family with you and enjoy the ski resorts found nearby. Features of this rental include 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and sleeps 9. It’s complete with a kitchen, living area, deck, hot tub, and a washer and dryer area that’s perfect for longer stays.

Plan your next family vacation in Utah and experience treehouse living with any of these rentals. Whether you visit in the fall or winter, or any time of the year, these rentals offer stunning natural scenery, and features that offer more than just a home away from home, but a pampering and exciting experience with family or friends.
